HELLO EVERYONE! I guess this blog has been dead for 4 months. So, let me update on our recent activities. Recently, the band have been practising for our upcoming P.O.P Concert '11. Yeah, we're already on holidays, but we stilll have practises (:
For our ensemble piece, we've confirmed Hawaii Five-O. We seeked help for the arr of the song from our alumni, Sir Hasyim, who is now a trumpeter in the police band. W/o him, I guess our ensemble piece would not be a success.
The band has been and will be putting up effort and hardwork towards this yr's P.O.P because it WILL be a sweet, SPECIAL and memorable one, as our band tchr in-charge, Ms Ong, will be leaving the band, and the school next yr. :\ Her 10yrs being in this band, had helped us all from the '01 batch til now. <3 MSLCB- ONE BAND, ONE SOUND <3

A bad news + SYF performance

Bad news is our one & only junior is gone! She had to transfer to Clarinet section!! bcause of her lipping. It's really sad coz we have to wait til next year for new juniors. But no matter what, we are stil proud of our section.

Next thing, we had our SYF performance on Wed, 010611. It was our last performance with the Graduaters :( It was still an enjoyable and a memorable one that we had. ^^

Recent Band practices

Recently, on Wednesday, the 4 peeps had taught our Junior. She is able to play well but needs more practice & should be fast. The 4 of us are trying our utmost to cope her with our section.

On Friday, sadly, Junior can't attend cos she's sick.. & Sadly again, Mr Tan can't attend cos he is also sick ): It is a 'sick season' am I right.. Yeah, so the band had their own sectionals.

We practiced some songs; Centuria, MOF, Die & tried out some other old songs.

After Band, guess what..? MSLCB played 'Blow Wind Blow' in the room. ^^

Then we continued playing 'Virus' at the Central Square. Swear it was fun, despite tiredness.

^^v Everyone had an extremely enjoyable day! Weeeee.

hello . :)) sorry for not updating this dead blog for sometime . so, basically , i'll keep this post short . ;D ON THE 7th may , we went for sectional together without FARIHIN again . Sadly, Iqahh Smith can't tag ALONG. So , me , dahliah and syafiqah went for sectional at woodlands waterfront . it was so freaking hot . there was also only limited space for us . then got MARVEL there and kept horning their horns . so irrits. :( so, we decided to find a place at WTF prt 2 . and , then practiced 'CENTURIA' together while waiting for iqahh smith . then about half an hour later , smith called and said , she can't find us . and then she went back by car . what the hell . we had sectional w/o a junior . bt then , it was fun after all. heheh . so, hopefully everyone can make it on the next SECTIONAL . :))

anyway, we gotten ourselves 1 junior. supossedly two. But, both quitted-.-'

So, our junior now is Syafiqah. Yeaaah. another syafiqah ^-^ haha.

I hope, she will follow the section's footsteps, and make this section better than before.

14 May there will be a sectional! at Republic Poly. I guess.

So, pleaaaaaaaaseee Come! cause left 9 mroe days to band resumes.

Today's practise was.... great. Not just because it ended early..(-.-) but its because that our band played very good ( applause!) Well, I really hope we can maintain this until.. forever and not just that.Keep improving! Be better and better each time we play out a song. Yeah.. so everyone was quite relax.. followed what the conductor said.(the Mr...Soluso?) and yea.. everything went on great.. So , to end this.. a quite long motto(to me). SOUND LIKE A CORNET DON'T SOUND LIKE A TRUMPET. NIte nite..!

On Wed, juniors were to practice by not looking at the song pieces. Unfortunately, the 4 of us were able to memorise the 2 song pieces by heart. We played thru both song once and it sounded great though we forgot some parts. Well, its not much. And poor thing the band had to fallin along a small corridor. Haha, should that be the first and the last. And ohya. We're preparing for this friday's rehearsel at SCH. Well, it is my turn to update! Today was the exchange to Serangoon Sec. Sadly, no pictures taken. Nehmind ^.^ So, anyway, when we arrived, i saw SJI. Not so nervous at that point of time. But when we are about to sit at the hall, i felt tense a lil' bit. Idk why. After the Serangoon Sec played, we were up next. Grawrs. Nervous. But okay la. Idk how well or bad we played cause we were playing. But i have to agree to Ma'am Syahirah that the first round was terrible. Maybe we were to excited/tense/nervous. I'm nervous that is why. I was shaking while playing=.=' But after the talk with Ma'am, i felt like proving her wrong. Not in a rude way la. Heh. Second round, we were the fifth band to perform. I was a stunned with SJI's playing. WOW(:! So anyway, then, the section sounded way better in th second round. But more to be improved. I'm really excited for Band Fiesta next Friday! But, pray hard we, as a band, will not screw up. By that, improve (: That's the only way to make a musician happy by playing music. Not plain sounds only. Now, as the sec 1s is joining us soon, we have to be more matured & should know well how to do the basic thingies & stuffs. I'm pretty excited too for SYF cause it is my first. I hope we can sustain the Gold or better Gold Of Honours/Gold with Honours. Idk which one ^^ I'll end here.

P/S: Cornet section won't drop with support with seniors & our hard work!

On Monday, it was a combine with Sir. Guess what happened to our choice piece ?!

Well, the band manage to do well & we are also improving. Sir was happy.

But that doesnt mean we can relax; its not yet a full-stop.

We still have to keep on practicing & practicing and do our best.

As for today, dahliah, farihin, raihan & I had a tirrrrrring day.

We were to practice tounguing exercise from slow tempo to v. fast.

We did this type of exercise for more than 200x i GUESS. c(x

Although tired, it was a best sectional overall. & the four wannabe seniors

had our own fun meeting after band. haha. Lets do it again. :D

So, Friday's combine was a total disaster. Grawrs. Section wasn't that good. Ya, told to bring back all of our instruments to practice. I hope we all will, so we won't get such bad day on Monday. Wednesday practice was great ! Firstly, the Sec 1 members joined in & we've got 2 new members in our section, 1 boy 1 girl. \V/ Secondly, we spent time memorising the pieces. Therefore, we still need to buck up & do our best. Rmb trumpets, we cannot hide our sounds.

It's been raining since yesterday-.-' grawwrrss. So, about band.. Erm, nothing much. But i love the bonding we have in our section now♥! I really miss POP.
I hope to have section outing soon :) Maybe after SYF.
All th best for SYF, same goes to th band :D it will be greaaaatt to see a smile & happy tears after hearing upon awesome results :D then, we know that our hard work really paid off. Then, we will be rewarded! wouldn't it be fun? :D Gosh.So, suffer now, enjoy later♥ Practice hard.

Hmm, Friday practice nothing much. Mr Tan wasnt there to have combine with us so we had sectionals at first, then had combined with the band.

We played great during sectionals & combines.

I hope the section had done better after Ma'am Nuraini had taught us.

Here to update :D It's dead. So anyway, my one year in MSLCB, Cornet section was amazing♥ even though i had alot of downs(: Erm. Syafiqah, Raihan & I are now closer :D But we three are trying to bond more with Farihin:D! I'm trying to be more close to my seniors. I hope that next year is gonna be better year for the whole band :D! Aiming GWH. I'm looking forward to 19 December(:! Christmas^^. The Sec3's had also offically became the most seniors in band.

It's time for you, "Muzammil & SeowYing" to lead the section.

Dear mraahhh,
we have 4 sec1s : Syafiqah, Farihin, Raihan and your sis, Dahliah. 3 of them were from Fuchun Secondary, & were ex-band members. Band practices had been reduced to two practices already.Only monday & friday, we will be starting to have structured remedial for sec4 & 5 next week onwards till march, so it only left with muzz and sy to takecare of the section. So, do come if you're free, before your school starts (: Do give us some recommendation on the next SL, althought me & fieq had already decide one, still we appreciate your help. The sec3s had went for the camp and only be back on friday. Sadly to say, our dear kiatpeng might be transferred to the percussion section (99%), but if he still don't come for band, most likely missong will going to sack him. The upcoming performances will be the 10th years anniversary. if there will be no changes, we will have merry widow as our SYF pieces. && most importantly, if fieq & zarif were going to come back for sec5s, we had in a total of 8 trumpeters to go for SYF'2011. So the trumpet section is super huge now? 10 people, imagine that?! hahahaha! when did we had so many peoples? All i can say is, muzz & sy's batch were so lucky to have experienced band members. hahaha! but it also has it disadvantages, you should know it why? so i shall not say it here, heeee. so far, the section have no problems, if there is, i will sure update you alrights? although enrolling to NYP might not be the one you're aiming for, but not to worry abt your frends. you will meet new friends, im sure you will enjoy your whole 3 years in poly & will be a smooth one. (: lastly, i miss you so muchhhhhhhhh!

Hello trumpeters,
It's been awhile since I last post something here. I think it's time for you people to really wake up as you guys have slack for a long time. Ever since SYF ended, your progress are really slow. Yes no doubt some of you have improve but what difference will it make if only one trumpeter is left behind struggling. I want you guys to help each other out as a section because we need teamwork to make something happen. I'm proud to see that you guys are working together and helping each other out. Like I've said, don't fight over small things and speak up if you think anything is wrong. Only you guys can make yourself better, not us. So remember to always work hard and try to juggle with all your other commitments. You guys have grown from a useless trumpeter to a reliable senior. Now you guys have to return us our efforts in making who you are now by maintaning it. I can't bare to see anyone of you guys to become from bad to worst. None of you are best so it means you guys have something to work towards. Don't give up on your dearest Kiat Peng because he's like you guys last time. You guys know we've never give up on you guys so don't give up on him. Motivate him and drag him along with you guys. Make him feel like apart of you guys. Don't separate him as a junior because he will feel left out as he's the only Sec 1. Pull him along and everything will be fine, trust me. Practice hard and play hard!

-Don't take for granted tt you're able to play well if you didn't practice efficiently.
-I don't want hear scoldings nor complains in our section okay?
-No mispitch, Correct articulation & dynamics,
-Correct sight-reading, No playing wrong notes! All these are strictly NO okay?
-Cuz is all minor problems, it will be a waste of time to go through all these.
-Even band is resuming, me & dhaimirah won't have time to come back often.
-So, promise us to have self-discipline, self-motivate, help one another.

i'm very sorry for walking away from you guys when i feel you guys need me. but just remember i will never ever give up on you guys but just know i just need a breather. i hope you guys really reflect on what i said just now. because th best gift you guys can ever give me before i leave is to become a better senior, a better person & contribute to th band. change your attitude in band. whatever you do outside of band i don't care but in band put ur best attitude. just like i've said nobody is perfect. but it only takes effort & nothing else. i don't like to repeat this again but i feel i have to. SYF is around th corner, very near that i think everyone should feel th tension. everyone is tired, i am exhausted. all i need is your support cause i depend on you guys. without you guys thr is no 'section'. just like you need me, i need you guys too. i hope you guys don't keep grudges towards me & understand my situation. cause i feel very stress & i hope you guys will share it with me. like i've said, this is not a one-man thing. so i really2 hope we guys go all th way for SYF & treasure every min & secs to SYF. cause every min counts. please don't let me do this alone. i want every single one of us to support each other. just remember like what th seniors made me promise & what i've promised to myself. i will never give up on you. so put on a fresh start on mon. & make every min of th sectional meaningful.

thoughts n feelings

i just feel like updating the section's blog, cuz i had a lot of thing to say. hahha, so it will be long, so just read on.

as a band member since 2006, i had been through a lot of ups and downs. im proud to say that after being a band member for 3yrs, i had grow up. i still rmb, when im sec1. i wouldnt cope with the stress level as we did not practice much on our scales and straight away to " The Seventh Night of July" dhai shld und it well. :) we had to practice very hard, is really hard. to blend our sound with the seniors. sometimes we practice too hard until i don even know why should we been practising so hard lyk no one esle business. the time, effort and hardwork we had put for the SYF'07. seniors keep do a lot of talking to us, saying how important SYF is to them. im sure me n dhai didnt really und it. only until the moment we step into the SCH, and achieve a GOLD. we truly und hw a seniors feel. at tt moment you will feel all the hardworks, efforts, times, scoldings and cryings is totally worth with only 20mins on the stage. to be frank, i missed my seniors a lot seriously. cuz we spend the most time together practising, having fun, suffers the scolding together and win together. that kind of feeling is super hard to describe.

to my dearest juniors:
i wanted to say that im super proud of being a senior to you guys. to me, time just flies so fast. and only when i was promoted as a senior, i would totally und how my seniors feel when i was a junior. it was so hard to control a section. eventhough sometime you guys really make me super flared up and vexed. but still, you guys bring me the most joys. and always be there for me. i donhab to do much talkings, cuz you guys wont und. only when you guy are a senior then you will totally und hw me and dhaimirah feels.to be frank, i was not as excited as last two years. cuz maybe the first SYF i had is too memorable one. i still can rmb the time we practice together. everyday you noe, mon- sat. we don even care about our studies already. heehee. but still i practice very hard for this yr SYF, cuz i want to make it a memorable for you guys. it was your first SYF you noe? each time passby, i feel we are getting nearer and nearer to our goal. how i hope that time would have just stop now. cuz when each day pass, mean we are stepping down really soon. i was super sad for this, MSL concert band is just lyk my secondfamily. the trumpet section is just like my siblings. even i might going to sec5, but still the feeling will totally be different. i hope tt the current sec3 will manage to takecare the section when we step down. we will come back band as much as we can, if we can manage both our n and o lvl.

-make it a memorable year to us, cuz is our last SYF, last yr.
-im super proud of you guys, seriously.
-im super proud being a senior and qm to you guys.
-i feel super worth it to spend most of my times with you guys.
everyone is feeling stress, esp the senior, i would say. cuz is our N and O lvl year. but still, we cant give up only at this moment. is just barely two months, so let achieve it. i promise that i will sure miss you guys superb when we step down. being a senior to you guys had been a good experience to me. i enjoy the time as a senior with u all. you guys had to take great care. don disappoint us. let make the SYF cry with happiness alright? there is still a lot for me to say. haha, but i will just stop here. i had confident in you guys! GAMBETTE!

dear trumpeters,

i know we've been a lot together. i know i'm going to miss everyone like i've missed my dear seniors. eventhough i'll be coming back, it won't be th same anymore. i'm no longer part of th main band. how i wish i could.. it's up to me to maintain what th seniors had left for me. & you guys to maintain what i have left for you guys. it's abt 1 month away from SYF. my 2nd one ofcourse but th first one for th rest. i hope you guys take this seriously as it's your ONLY opportunity & i don't want to see you guys get dissapointed aft that. i've been through it once & i'm very proud abt it. i won't feel excited abt it like last time but i wish you guys feel that way. & i want to share it with you guys. i will be bringing you guys thr & i hope it will be th proudest moments for all of us. i am very very very proud of you guys for making this far. i've seen you guys grow up from th immature thinking kid to a well-grown young adult. i am very sure you guys are able to do this for me atleast. it's my last year with you guys & i'm really sad abt it. eventhough you guys can really get into my nerves but you guys are still th people who made me laugh & happy. i call you guys my 2nd family & i hope you guys feel th same way too. we share problems together right? your problem is always my problem too. i wish th love we have for each other will remain th same forever even if we kena curse like last time or any unwanted monsters cause problems to our section. i'm very proud to be a SL to MSL Trumpets. & i'm very proud to say you guys are my sectionmates. i just want to say that you guys hold on for another few more weeks. you guys are stress-free people i know, but share it with me okay people? we chiong all th way till our SYF. i still believe "PRACTICE" is still th only way to success. so don't stop here okay. we will stand side by side, hands cling together & run all th way to th top. if anyone fall we carry them along. no matter how heavy they are. hehe! we are weak individually but we are strong together. that's why we are called a section! i love you guys!!

Greetings fellow trumpeters..

I believe that your SYF will commence in like less than 2 months from now?.. 2 months isn't that long. You people need to put in extra effort. Not only the section but the whole band. NO time for slack or delay, everything must be done then and there.

Your dearest principal is a sportsman and now sports CCA are getting up to somewhere for eg. netball.. so chances of performing arts not getting the right attention is there.. unlike our previous principal, Mrs choy, she i can was a "hard-core" fan of our band. We, i'm referring to the Band, must retrieve that honour back..not only in the heart of the principal but also the whole school.

how to retrieve that "honour" back?..easy.. achieve a Gold with "Honours".. thats your ultimate goal now..

and I also believe that there are some disputes among band members.. hmm.. pretty hard on some of of you. try to cool things down as soon possible.. because the main focus now is SYF... you must unite as one! put your differences, anger, unhappiness, ego aside..just for this 2 months.. ok?

where is the BAND LOVE??... don't tell me its gone... unite as one..don't break apart..

dearest trumpeters, take good care of yourself and your instrument for these upcoming busy TWO MONTHS! :) don fall sick, it will pity if u miss out any one of that performance. it will gain your experience and confident lvl! we are more nearer to our goal as time pass by, let work together, move together and win together!

Tickets are selling @ 10dollars for Band Fiesta @ SYF, we will be playing our choice piece.
it is a rather opportunity to see how we perfom lyk during SYF.

wah! trumpeters got blog sehh!. anyyway, ermm... wish you guys all the best for this year's SYF. i know its hard on all of you. especially MA'AM nerin and MA'AM dhaimirah who have to take care of all the juniors. its also tough for the sec twos who have just been called MA'AM and SIR. prove to me that you are worth of tht certificate. SIR zarif, PLEASE work hard, make sure you improve. i dont know how you're gonna do it. MA'AM nuraini, don't fight for sound, work well with the section. MA'AM syafiqah, don't dissappoint me.i expect A LOT from you. MA'AM seow ying, you have a beautiful sound, you blend well BUT, increase the volume. SIR muzammil, don't play around too much.

dearest MA'AM nerin and MA'AM dhaimirah, there's no need for me to tell you what to do uh... you should know what to do. but still, if you need any help you can approach me. and no more nonsense. thank you.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
